Tunnel for Fenn trap

    A quick question about Fenn trap tunnels. What size entrance hole will allow mink in but keep non-target species out? I've been told 3"x3" but the area I'm setting in has a lot of hedgehogs which would get in. Is 2" x 2" too small? Alternatively I will have to build a raft to keep the hedgehogs out of harms way.

    I reckon my tunnels are 3 x 3. Mostly set for rats around pens but caught a young rabbit in one recently. If there is a large population of hedgehogs around you I think it is inevitable that you will catch them inadvertently. I would be more tempted to go down the cage trap route in that case.

    Cheers, I have 2 cage traps. I'll set 1 Fenn out on a raft, there is a mill race beside the pen.

    Unfortunatly fenn traps don't pic there targets , anything that get in is targeted if you worried about it stick with cages

    A mink got into my coop/run which was walled with 50mm welded mesh. To be doubly sure, after I killed her I used her corpse to test it out and she fit through the holes, even though it was a bit of a squeeze.
