Becoming a pro wrestler

I have been a wrestling fan since I was 6 or 7 , watching WWF at what i believe was it's pinnacle , when The Rock and Stone Cold where there , and Hulk Hogans NWO days.

Now that I'm 18 I thought about a career in the sport as I feel I know it so well. When I watch wrestling I can accurately guess who wins and how as I watch. People who aren't familiar don't know how I can predict how matches twist etc.

I also like fitness and if i thought there was a chance at making a career I would spend all my time dedicated in shaping my body to tackling the business.

I know it wouldn't be easy but I am someone who would easily move to America and pursue my goals and someday return home again etc. That is my philosophy on life, to reach for moon and stars and someday come home and enjoy hobbies and balanced lifestyle.

Are there any clubs in Meath/Dublin area? I also feel I had personality which could be exploited into a fan favourite or whatever persona wrestling demands.

''Hard Work + Opportunity = Success''
    Thanks:)

I believe there are some documentaries on how Seamus made it to where he is today, I'm sure they could give you some tips.

Well, if your serious about it, try to go to one of the training schools that IWW or FFPW have going. Check out the thread here :)

I'm not a massive individual , i'm 18 and me and my friends just aren't fully developed , men grow and bodies fill out naturally until 21. Im 5,10 perhaps finished growing although my dad is 6ft and my uncles are 6'2 and other one 6'3. My mother is small enough 5,5 so i could be f u c ked.... :L

But i would still love to train etc but i wouldnt want them to look at me and laugh because im not a heavy weight or beast

To the lad who is asking about becoming a Pro Wrestler.

Are you sure you can juggle your careers as both a Wrestler AND an Actor?

    1) I opened that to learn of other peoples stories and understand how fame isnt an over night thing
    2) World Wrestling Entertainment is the longest running show. Which introduced The Rock to acting .

    3) Don't be a condescending lunatic

    Good answer. :pac:

Seriously though, don't go into wrestling (or acting, or anything) looking to be famous. It's a horrible goal, but one that so many people growing up these days seek. Put it this way, in any career, when asked what your goals are, saying "To be famous" won't do anything for anyone. In wrestling, being able to be well-rounded, get in great shape, do great interviews etc, are all goals that will actually help you. Aim for that, not the end result of riches and fame. And if you do A well, then B might follow.

You're young so you're smart to explore multiple interests, you'd be stupid to put all of your eggs in one basket, so the best thing is to use the help people have given you here and just throw yourself in. If you love it, don't talk about how much you love it...just do it. Talking about what you could be good at is nothing, you have to get down and do it. Once you start, keep the mouth shut (especially talking about your ambitions), the head down, be respectful to your peers and learn. The rest will go from there. :)

    Oh to be 18 again!

As others said earlier, MSW or FFPW run training schools two days per week so perhaps try both schools and choose which one you prefer. Days/prices are on both their websites, both schools are on a Dublin Bus route though if you don't drive.

IWW also have a school, not sure where that is though so you'll have to contact them for more info.

Keep your eyes and ears open at all times, soak up as much information as you can, keep asking questions and keep learning.

When you enter a building or dressing room, shake everybody's hand.

If you're very serious about your training, then don't neglect the less glamorous side of wrestling - become very familiar with the inside of a gym, lift heavy weights and do a lot of cardio. Read up on diet and nutrition, what foods to eat and how often.

Let us know how you get on when you start your training, good luck!

    Oh really?
you wanna be a pro wrestler ? :pac:

Guess we can add that to your list of wanting to be a snooker player , an actor , sharpshooter and Architect

Sure I already got a pro wrestling character for you:
"gun toting, snooker playing, Architect by day, pro wrestler by night and extra on fair city at weekends"

Since the OP's question has been deemed to be not genuine, I'm splitting it off from the Irish Promotions Thread and locked.
