NCT - Is oil checked?

    Hi,

Quickie - my OH has her NCT on weds this week and her car (2006 E90) has just popped up an oil change light on the dash.

Question - would she fail her NCT on this? Does it need to be sorted in advance? I have checked the NCT manual and can't see an oil check mentioned. I realise this is not a big thing to sort but we're both very stuck for time between now and Weds!

    Thanks,

    P.

Car is petrol by the way so the Diesel Exhaust Smoke test won't be carried out.

Tough one. Couldn't be sure on that tbh, but it is a warning light, so could fail. Why not get the oil changed and have the light reset?

it wont fail on an oil service light being displayed.

i do think they check the oil level on all cars, petrol and diesel so make sure its topped up and you'l be fine.

and of course if its due an oil change, organise one :pac:

Fully intend to but may not have a chance before the test is due so wondering if we should reschedule test or let it through and hope for the best. The light doesn't come on straight away so could possibly be missed!
