About half of that price difference is tax, presumably, but where the rest is coming from I don't know.

You might just wait until the Hong Kong stores start to get it in stock. You'll get a much better deal from them. T-Dimension is a really reliable one, and their ebay store has free shipping (via FedEx) to anywhere in the world.

You will have to pay tax & duty if it comes from outside the EU which often negates any savings. Plus if you buy here you can bring it back to the shop if anything goes wrong.

I work with a US company so am over and back fairly regularly :)
    So plenty to be saved.
I will check out that T-Dimension though amdgilmore thanks.

As said above the amazon price is exclusive of tax so figure out what it is where you will buying in the US to give you your true savings.

Is there a review out of the production model, the preproduction review I read noted a few things that needed work/fixing.

If you buy in the EU there's no excise to pay. Germany are cheaper than anywhere. My nephew is getting mine. His mother in law bought one - fantastic quality photos and video. If you know anyone who has emigrated to mainland Europe get them to buy it. €380 in Dortmund, €500 and odd in Ireland!

Make sure you do plenty of reading on it. What I've hear is that it is over priced, there are a lack of lenses, it has slow autofocus, buggy firmware etc. Digital rev a review recently, since the latest firmware release, you should look it up.

its going to be replaced soon. The new version is rumoured to contain the amazing sensor from the new 70d.

    i'd hold off!

Here's the link to the review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwZDStFUixQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

All be aware that the newest lenses to be released are no for sale on the US or European markets.

There are 2 new dedicated kit lenses but the adaptor (you have to buy one) allows you to use many other Canon lenses. The firmware has now been upgraded so the autofocus is not the big problem it once was. Check new reviews, not the old stuff. It's the best bargain out there until the new one comes out (at full price). See professional review at thelazytravelphotographer.blogspot.ie/2013/07/my-eos-m-at-worka-review(dot html)

When you use other lenses, do you have to recalculate the focal length as you do on other mirrorless cameras? bwt, two kit lenses is pretty abysmal.

I recommend you watch the review I posted above, which by the way, is their third review of the camera & specifically deals with the firmware upgrade...
