    Hi all,
Today my motherboard in my laptop decided to pack up a year and Half old but I wanted a higher spec one anyway. My budget is €600-€650. It has to have i5 and maybe a nvidia graphics card. The main use for it will be graphic design, programming, video editing, small but of gaming and school work. Bearing in mind I have a super self built gaming machine. Another requirement is it must have a built in microphone as I use team speak a-lot. I have being looking around but i'm a bit off the current market. Thanks in advance.

I should probably start my own thread (and probably will) but I'm in the market for something similar.

This one caught my eye. amazon-lenovo G580
    Lenovo G580 15.6-inch Laptop (Dark Bronze) (Intel Core i5 3210M 2.5GHz, 6GB RAM, 750GB HDD

    Or indeed
    amazon-lenovo Z580
    Lenovo Ideapad Z580 15.6-inch Laptop (White) (Intel Core i5 3210M 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD

Not sure if it meets all your requirements, but seems like better value than the Acer to my untrained eye.

Solid machines indeed, yet they only have Intel HD4000 graphics.

Yeah I spotted that after I posted and figured that was probably where the difference lay.

Without meaning to hijack this thread, would I be better off with the extra RAM and HDD space of the G580 given I'm not going to be gaming at all? Mostly multimedia, web and some non-graphics intensive desktop apps.

    It's coming in around €607.

Any advantage to Komplett over Amazon? Acer vs Lenovo?

Go for the bigger one, the little difference in price certainly warrants it.

Not really, in this price range (I consider laptops up to 600 yoyos still budget machines) they're all the same, more or less. If you buy cheap, you'll get cheap, as the say in Texas. ;)

How very dare you! 607 is well out of your budget range! :P

Ya well... don't expect it to last for ages. ;)

Today I had the pleasure to reinstall a 6 year old Tosh Qosmio, C2D P9500 and GT 9600M, 4 GB RAM and 320 GB HDD. Windows 7 Experience Index 4.9, Gaming 6.2 ... not too shabby for the old clunker, musta cost a fortune back in the day. Right next to it I had a brand new Dell Inspiron with a Dual Core Celery processor and Intel GMA, needless to say, it couldn't hold a candle to the old Tosh. :D
