i would like to paint my veneered kitchen units. i have been told that the paint will easily chip off. can anyone advise if this can be done. if so what is the best technique and what is the best paint to use? should a primer be used first.

Remove all the handles off doors and drawers
Degrease with sugar soap or white spirit
Wipe down all surfaces your going to paint with ESP
Give all areas a coat of BIN primer
Finish with 2 coats of satin/gloss.
