Paying fees as one payment or two

    Alri,

I need to pay fees for next year, not just the student contribution. As far as I know, there's the option to pay it in two installments rather than just one. Is there a charge associated with making a payment? i.e. if I pay in two installments, will I be paying an (e.g.) €10 surcharge twice? Or is the total cost associated with either method identical?

It makes a 10er difference specifically a 10er for nothing

No difference as far as I know. Given that I hate the course I'm doing I always pay half and half. I could always win the lottery or die in the meantime.

If you're paying fees (i.e. repeating a year) then you don't need to pay the student contribution, just the fees.

EDIT: although you might know that already, wasn't sure from the way you phrased it

Every student* will be able to pay fees in 2 installments on the new online system, there is no charge applied by the college for this. Your bank may charge for transactions but that is the only extra cost.

That is what the treasurers office is authorised to do by the board and college finance committee.

*Except First time Non-EU students who have to pay their first year upfront

Is that still the case if you're starting a new course in a different university?

AFAIK, yes. Basically the student contribution is paid when the government is covering your fees, i.e. you're getting 'free fees'. If the government is not covering your fees for a particular year (repeating a year, switched course, doing another degree etc) then you pay the fees that year but not the student contribution.

I am doing a second degree, do I not need to pay the student contribution charge?
