all along we only had the old type tvs ie not flatscreens. anyway bought a flatscreen saorview approved in argos yesterday. put it going today and all was grand and channels coming through great. next thing weather got showery tonight and the channels are starting to jump and skip. i can go to channel 901+902for what seems rte 1+2 on the old ones and they work but the new rte 1+2 are jumpy. always had a problem with tv3+tg4. when the weather is bad they can go very fuzzy too unwatchable. checked the old tvs that are still there and tg4 is only fair and tv3 is awful. is it something with my aeriel? what should i do next.

Sounds like an aerial problem, likely the waterproofing has failed somewhere.

Fuzzy = analogue tuner. You shouldnt have that problem with the digital tuner (DVB-T/Saorview).

The DVB-T tuner (Saorview Channels) should show the channels without fuzziness. Digital may go blocky and freeze (not like analogue fuzzy symptoms) which would signify a problem with your aerial or aerial connections.

By the way the channels you have in 900+ can be renamed to 1, 2 etc. Its called LCN. What make/model TV is it.

If TV3 and TG4 were always dodgy it's possibly an old VHF aerial not suitable for SaorView.
