    One word - don't.

I've worked there, and believe me, it's not a holiday destination of any sort.

There are far better places aus Deutschland to go visit.

ah we were just gonna go away for a couple of days somewhere different, that wouldnt cost to much.the prices of flites and hotels at the beginning of september to a couple of places is the same price as a couple of nights stay in hotels in the big cities here in ireland that we were thinking of going to.Good old ireland ehhh.
cheers for the replies guys much appreciated can cross that one of the list

If you enjoy techno, you have some of the world's finest clubs. Cocoon, U60311 and The Robert Johnson in Offenbach.

Spent one of the best weekends of my life there!

Berlin, Munich and Hamburg have more variety. maybe get yourself an eyewitness guide to one of those places?

I you do land in Frankfurt, which has the reputation for being a financial city, where money and appearance is all, go on train to to northern Bavaria which has plenty to offer.

I do not know if you want museums, nightlife or scenery. Germany is a big and underrated place.

Germans are friendly and will speak a little English but it always sounds good if you try using a word or two of the language.

Agreed - the city is a little bland. Also, its aimed at the business traveller and prices are quite expensive, especially hotel rooms. I'd also recommend Hamburg and Munich as alternatives. Frankfurt isn't all bad though, they're famous for serving Apple wine.

Frankfurt has charm, but you will have to go looking for it and its not there in abundance.
