Garage has damaged side skirt on my car

Had my car in with a garage about 4 weeks getting 2 new front tyres, rear pads and some alignment done to the wheels.

Just noticed earlier today when down under the car that an underneath section of the side skirt (which is adjacent to the jacking point the sill) has been perforated (a hole about an inch thick) and flattened out. I'm guessing this was due to when they were hoisting the car up the lift and load being put on this part of the car instead further in.

This damage was not there before the car went in- as I had done an oil change a few weeks before and would have noticed it. It's not noticeable unless you get down underneath.

It's 4 weeks later, is there any point in going back to the garage about this damage?

Chance your arm, but I'd say there's no point at this stage.

I had to remove excess brake fluid as they were not bothered to adjust the level after pushing the rear calipers in. They also forgot to put back on my metal valve caps and then today I find this damage. What a joke.

I don't see myself getting anywhere in going back to them with this. They can deny it down to the ground and claim that I had the car hoisted since then or that even the damage was there beforehand. What's the point.

I once got my car back from garage, an 3 year old alfa 166 at that time and the plastic cill was destroyed and put back with a big dirty screw from the outside. The garage didnt want to know when I went back.

Funnily enough my car in questions is an Alfa too. It sickens me how some of the garages are so careless.

How did you get it repaired Mick? If you can imagine the side skirts on the GT and the way the mould around underneath until they join by a crease to the main sill, its that part that is damaged and flattened out. The actual jacking points on the GT are actually quite far in, as I would guess the same with the 166.

I just took the dirty screw out and did a more discreet job from underneath. I was seriously pissed though. At that stage, there were little or no 166 being broken so a new cill was not a runner even if it was easily replaced.

I know I don't think I will go back. At least the damage is not visible and can only be seen underneath
