    Hi All,
want to start purchasing my recommended books for first science coz money is tight! doing maths, experimental physics, engineering science and computer science. The only subject i can find the reading posted online is physics (cutnell and johnson). Any idea what the other subjects recomended reading texts are? obviously if anyone has any of the books for sale they can let me know too!
    Thanks!

TBH, I'd hold off buying the books until you have an idea what subjects you're going to keep on. They're fairly expensive, and hard to get rid of after you've used them.

As said previously you really should hold off until you're 100% sure what you are doing.

For the record for math your book will prob be essential calculus by Larson, holster and Edwards . Its a big chunker of a book and a pain to carry around cost €60 too as far as I can remember.

You can always get the books in the library if moneys tight, though if its a book everyone is using it may be difficult to get your hands on it around exam time etc.

You might be able to pick up some of the books second hand. Keep your eyes peeled on the notice boards around the college.

I did all those subjects and doing Computer science now, only book I bought was the calculus one. Rest of them are rarely used and in library if you need it.

The notes your lecturer gives you will be better anyway

And when you're 100 percent on the subjects you're doing and books you need, then do visit this thread to see if anyone is selling any of the ones you want

Chem department is a pain for this though, because we had to buy the books brand new for some online tutorial code, didn't like the way they run tutorials at all. Is that still going on?
    Absolute racket.

Didn't happen back in my day, that is crazy! But yeah, I bought loads of books in first year and really shouldn't have because they (along with loads of others for the same subject) are at your disposal in the liberry (my most hated of berries).
