Connecting flight at London Heathrow

I will have a connecting flight at Heathrow in sept for the first time. I will arrive on Aer Lingus from Dublin into T1 and fly out of T5 to Tokyo with BA. I've read online that a dedicated bus meets connecting passengers from the Aer Lingus plane and brings you to your onward flight's terminal. Is this correct? Does this bus meet all Aer Lingus flights? Or do I need to enter Terminal 1 and follow the signs for Flight connections?

I have a through ticket with BA so I assume me and my bags will be through checked to Tokyo. Will i need to present myself at a BA transfer desk at heathrow?

    Thanks

The bus will meet the plane and take you to central flight connections area where you will then transfer onto a bus for your new terminal. It's a handy service they offer now.

When you check in in DUB you should be given all your boarding passes (providing it was all booked on the one tix, which i presume it was as you say your luggage is booked through) In that case there is no need to go to the BA transfer desk. Only if you don't have your boarding pass will you need to go to the transfer desk.

    Have a good flight.

Bus will meet the flight, bring you to the T1 connections centre where you transfer on to a bus to T5. If you are on one booking Aer Lingus should check your bags through to Tokyo, and they should give you your boarding pass for the BA flight also..if that's the case, you'll just have to go through security and on to your gate :)
