Did Guinness Storehouse register this year for Culture Night? They don't seem to be on the A-Z list.

Really looking forward to Culture Night as I do every year. The hardest part is deciding what to leave out :D I have done the Stephen's Green/Merrion Square area a few times so think I will stick to the Historic Quarter are and do Dublin Castle and St. Audoens (never been in there) and hopefully a few other things.

Anyone else got theirs planned out or am I the only one?

Im leaning towards Unitarian Church and Architectural Archive, and perhaps a place called Culture Lab on Stephens Green. I am always shagged after doing 3.

Defo worth the visit - I drop in once a month, just to soak up the atmosphere - and it's always free-in too (remember to go to the very back of the church and see the 'Lucky' stone)

Glad to hear that. The outside of it is so amazing that I was hoping the inside wouldn't be a disappointment! I love to pop into St. Werburgh's now that it has re-opened (Tue-Friday 10am -5pm), you can feel the history once you walk inside. Well I like to think I can anyway :)

Werburghs is an amazing place - and quite eerie too when it's empty. I was in it last month and only had 3 euro till pay-day, but just felt obliged to empty it all into the donation box

I am going to check out the Freemasons lodge. It is directly across the road from the Dail.

Talk about sending a message , perhaps I will uncover some kind of sinister conspiracy.

It's definitely worth the visit, we had a peek aroundthe place when it first came on the Culture Night program. I haven't had the guided tour though, I'd say its really interesting.

What kind of things are you normally interested in? I have a grá for the old buildings and getting to nosey around inside them so if you like the same thing, I'd suggest Freemason's Hall on Molesworth Street, Royal Irish Academy on Dawson Street and any of the ones on Merrion Square.

Guided tours are best, honestly if you missed them it's worth going again just for that! There was a different guide in each hall and they all had fantastic stories and answered questions.

I think I'll go for the Castle area myself.

Yeah, if I can get out of work early I might nip down to Freemasons first...it gets fairly busy as far as I remember. Then back to the Historic Quarter :)

How do you book for the pre booking buildings?

Might be too late already...is it?

Usually a great night looking forward to it... have never managed to book tickets!
They have a list of the pre book buildings which i know the Dail is always included on but its not even on the list.... maybe booked up?

If it is already booked up (very possible at this stage), they also do free tours (pre-booked) during Open House Dublin on 5th - 7th October.

    Best Culture Night yet :D
We made it to the No.29 Georgian Museum, Dublin Castle, City Hall and the highlight of the evening was the James Joyce House on Ushers Island - Bit of a queue to get in, but well worth the wait!

Had a lovely Culture Night :)
Got to St. Audoen's first which I hadn't been inside before. They were giving 15 minute taster tours but it is open until 24th October with more rounded tours if anyone is interested. Think I'll go back myself for it :)
Next Dublin Castle State Apartments, then underneath the castle to see the old city wall...I enjoyed that. Quick wander round the paintings exhibition in Chester Beatty then the Revenue Museum... mostly so I could have a gawk around the church but it was all closed in, could see nothing of the church interior. Had a wander around Christchurch then, inside and out. There was a food market outside with live music which was lovely.
One drink with a friend then back to her house for a bit. My favourite bit - seeing that meteor as I left for my bus :D

I've already booked myself a tour of Marsh's Library, must see what else there is that I need to book in advance :)

Oh and we're half way through Heritage Week already, I did a few things last Saturday and hopefully will do a few more this weekend http://www.heritageweek.ie/
