Dublin and Clare are playing today in the minor hurling. Dublin are 4/5 favourites (with Clare at 5/4).

Dublin are the more expierenced team whereas Clare are coming out of 2 Munster titles in a row, I would find it hard to see anytghing but a Dublin win today, clearly I would love to be wrong :)

Good article in yesterday's Irish Times here

Personally dont think this Dublin minor team is all that strong.Won the weakest Leinster championship in a long time..I fancy Clare to win this one, with the eventual winners coming from the other side, probably Galway

As a Dubs fan,I too hope Im wrong:)

I think the Clare team are fairly well balanced and will win with a few to spare.

    Clare 0-03 v 0-01 up after 4mins.

Clare look strong and the Dubs have been poor so far

Soft goal for the dubs, still 5pts behind though.

Mrs. Clareman came home for lunch and I missed the first 15 minutes, not the end of the world I was thinking, ffs 1-6 to 1-1.

Super save by Quilligan in goal for Clare, 2 in it now.

Great save alright but this full back line is pretty much non-existent.

Such an up and down game, well taken goal by Dublin and only a point in it now

Some of the ball going into the clare forwards are completely aimless.

I wouldn't think either team on the other side of the draw would be frightened of either team.

That looked a nasty cut for the Clare full forward. Penalty for Dublin now, well saved, woohoo .

If the Clare fella pulled on that it could have been like the Nicky english goal v antrim!

Yeah, should have taken a pull on it, great Clare point there, 1 of the best I've ever seen.
Goal to Dublin, interesting last 5 minutes coming up

I don't know how that wasn't a free, clear pull of the jersey there, all sqaure with a minute to go

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

That looked over to me here, over the post I guess, all square going into injury time.

Never a free to Dublin in the first place and how was that not a square ball?

It was over the bar, and that was a Clare free not dublin. CLare were robbed.

Clare midfielder just charged in to defender and kept doing it, with his arms either side of him, can't do that. Definite free.

Looked over the post on the free, that was never a free, was a sideline ball to dublin. Hard to tell from replays was it a square ball for sure, but didn't look it, only threw himself at it as it arrived. Poor defending.

Some dreadful decisions by that ref. Where do they get them. Defo no free for that last Dublin goal. Duggan's free was over the bar. Very hard luck on Clare.

In fairness, the ref was incredibly strict on both teams from the start with regards to overcarrying...Anyway well done Dublin, and hard luck to Clare

What was over the bar? The Clare free. Clearly outside the post. Good Match. UP the Sample_dubs.jpg

No point in crying over it now, well done Dublin and best of luck in the final, to be beaten by last minute goals in 2 All Ireland finals in a row is a bit annoying to say the least

Kick in the teeth alright. As the Dublin manager said the better team lost!

Fair play to Dublin for sticking at it. Great game.

Hard luck to Clare, that is a real example of "leaving a game behind", happy to have one but would have like it under better circumstances.

Clare looked a little better to me but fair play to Dublin for sticking at it when all seemed lost. Clare have 3 gems in #6, #9 and #10 what a point he got. Dublin had 9or 10 scorers today and looked a little nervous especially in the fiirst half and took a few bad shots when they had time to settle on ball.

On the point that was'nt. It looked to me to over the post but it was never a free in the first place it was a line ball to Dublin.

Also the Clare midfielder who I think was superb fouled a few times by not attempting to play the ball and was barging but he got away with it. The one that was given against him I thought was harsh. In fairnesss the Referee I felt was decent enough all through, consistant.

Dublin have nothing to lose now at this stage. They will be big outsiders to win the final no matter who they are playing.....

Personally from a neutral viewpoint I thought the Ref was poor, to both sides really, and gave alot of very questionable decisions, obviously the last 2/3 going against Clare will make them feel the more hard done by, but the truth is they were the beneficaries of some strange calls themselves.

Clare I felt were the better team, but Dublin perhaps had that bit more balance and more options upfront, Clare reminded me of a typical club underage team, all the superstars in the focal positions but a few passengers in others, long term Clare will probably reap more though.

pretty much agree with that as well. The ref gave some awful frees against Dublin early on for charging or overcarrying or something, worse than the final one against Clare which I felt was a free anyway regardless of a ref who had been calling that sort of free all day. Dont think it was a square ball either, he only barely got a flick on it stretching, its not as if he was waiting on the ball to drop in. The free for Clare was dodgy alright, and it may well ahve crept over. Wasnt a free in the first place though.

Its a shame that what was an entertaining enough game decided by a class last minute goal has so many people talking about the ref. The usual thing, if no one talks about a ref after a game, he has done a good job. Wasnt the case here.

Clare I felt had the better players in areas, but didnt get enough out of some other players. They got some serious classy scores, but full back line looked dodgy all day and Dublin just hung in and kept plugging away. Dublin epitomized the team effort that you need at minor level. No real superstars, but a solid effort throughout.
