03 passat abs sensor issue....

    Hoping someone can help

03 petrol 2ltr ...... was getting a wheel bearing done which turned in to a fairly big job as all bolts and even the ABS sensor was completely seized and had to broken to be removed. Ordered a replacement spurious one for €65.00 in local auto parts shop (vw wanted approx 220€)

all fitted and back together- no abs lights on in dash but abs is making grinding noise while breaking at low speed and vibrating. apparently the spurious sensors do not come with a collar that is needed for correct positioning....

Anyone have any experience with this or know where I can get the collar without having to buy the hole sensor again from VW ?

    thanks

If you are sure that is the issue, try breakers.

cheers for reply - local breakers not open till tues and i believe its a common enough issue so dont know if they will go to the hassle of trying to remove the sensor or try and sell the whole hub complete

Looking up my etka part system, the sleeve is listed by itself with a price so it should be available from the dealer for about €15.
The part number would appear to be 443927817.
