Decent MTB wheels

    Hi all,
have a €1,000 cube mtb about 2 years old, great bike.
Use it once or twice per week on mix of single track, forest road and downhill.

When on rougher terrain am getting a little wheel trouble, more regular out of true than I like.

Is there bullet proof wheels available in 200-400 range which lads could reccommend?

    Thanks in advance

Mavic Crossrides are the MTB equivalent of Aksiums! Cheap, bullet proof and reasonably light - use them for 2 years and then change for another pair! If you find that a bit boring and lacking in any "bling factor" then Hope Pro 3 hubs with Stan Crest rims is a great option. Contact Alfie in Expert Cycles in Rathfarnham and he should be able to do something close to the upper end of your budget!

+1 on the Crossrides. Have a set myself and they have done me well for nearly 4 years now. Still true as the day I got them

50% off Easton Wheels at the moment at CRC:

Have a pair of Mavic Crossmax SLR and as above with other Mavic users have never had to true them since out of the box (5 years now) although its just xc I use them. The Mavic's definitely seem bombproof but 50% off the Easton's are worth looking at.
