Of course they work, although going by threads in this forum, it would seem the terrestrial signal can be degraded, so it helps if it starts off in good health.

The diplexer nearest the receiver can be built into a wallplate too.

I have a sky box in a room, and a single feed going up into the attic, which is then joined to the dish.

I want to send a Sky Eye into a bedroom upstairs.

Could one of these be used in reverse, like send the signal from the sky box from the RF port through this output, and then rejoine din attic with the feed going to dish and other feed going to the Sky Eye?

Attached is what I have in mind using two of these diplexers

It would work as regards the 2 signals, but won't pass the 9 VDC power to the magic eye.

This thread deals with something similar: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056720227

Doh! Looks like i may have some drilling to do. The TV is wall mounted on a partition wall and the IR receiver standing on it wuld def take away from the look of it.
