i'm just wondering the reason behind players turning jerseys inside out and wearing them back to front after swapping them at the end of a game ?
is it due to sponsorship or something or just that there is an awful bang of sweat of them ?:confused::D

I would have thought that its because its another county's jersey. I for one would never wear another county's shirt. Sponsorship probably comes into it as well

It's surely the simple fact that after a long 70 mins players couldn't be arsed what way the jersey goes on.......

Most jerseys are skin tight now, you almost have to peel them off so they will be inside out when they swop them, couple that with the fact that players won't want to wear another counties jersey leaving it inside out is usually best, afaik most players will not organise to swop jerseys outside the dressing room.

A lot of players don't even bother turning them inside out but from personal experience I always turned a jersey inside out, never back to front though? As far as I know there was no rule about turning inside out to keep the sponsor sweet as a few lads just threw a top on no hassle. I'd imagine its to do with the personal preference of players, I for one always turned it inside out but I don't know why.

why would they bother swapping for it in that case? they are inside out or back to front coz they just swap and put it on whatever way it is handed to them. nothing to do with sponsors or anything else.

Some people just like to collect jerseys and try to have 1 from every county they've played against, often they might be just left in a cupboard or might be used for training and stuff. A friend of mine who was on the Clare team of the 90s has a brilliant collection and his son is now wearing some of them for training.

To give a reason of sponsorship or because players dont want to wear another counties jersey is just rubbish. If that was the case you wouldnt swap it at all. After a game players just pull them off and a lot of the time they are pulled off inside out. Players probably couldnt be arsed turning it back the right way just for the sake of a couple of minutes when you are going to be taking it off again in the dressing room.
