It truly is a horrible horrible disease :( I have been seeing the true affects of it in the past week. Came across a young grazer couldnt have been more than 6 weeks old and both his eyes were sealed up. I got close enough to him that I could pick him up and dispatch him by hand. There has been a major outbreak of myxie in recent weeks in my area and a massive increase of rabbit numbers  Its actually very hard to watch a rabbit trying to run away from you and all its doing is running into trees :(

Unfortunately the only treatment for myxie is a dose of lead. Medical treatment is not practical for wild rabbits as it is far too costly. I dont see why there isnt a spray that can be put down that will neutralise the insects carrying the disease.

We're after shoooting 5 rabbits with different stages of mixy on a friends farm that I recently got permission on in the last 2 weeks.. Also shot 15 healthy ones in the last 2 weeks so, The numbers are sky high but hopefully we can get rid of the mixy ones before it wipes out the 100's there.
