We're going to be stopping off in Rome for a few days at the start of our honeymoon. As the honeymoon will be active and not exactly beach paradise, we'd like an absolutely fabulous hotel for our two nights in Rome. Any recommendations?
Ok, and I suppose I am aware that Rome is super expensive, so basically any recommendations of good central hotels where we won't be there thinking 'is this it?'

This is the luxury selection as reviewed by visitors on TripAdvisor. It might be worth looking at. There does seem to be something for all budgets there.

Thanks, never saw that there! I'm more used to booking.com 'sort by price' and start from the lowest up! Last time I was in Rome i was with some friends in an apartment near the pantheon. It was a great location, walked everywhere, but want to splash out this time, if you can't do it on honeymoon, when can you?

Yes, good old TripAdvisor... It's where I find most of the hidden gems.

Rome is a great walking city but it big, so it is nice to find somewhere central. You will see a map of where the hotels are, so somewhere between where the cluster of them are in center over as far as the river toward the vatican would be my choice of locations.
