    hi,

its a bit of a strange question, if you want to reinstall windows then just download your version of windows and put it on a CD or DVD. use something like recoer keys to get you licence key if you dont have a licence on a sticker on you PC. and just start from scratch.

deleting all files except windows is not the way to go because when you install stuff it writes into the windows registry and all those things would then be rubbish and cause you issues down the line. go to control panel and add and remove programs and uninstall anything you dont need.

make sure and get you licence key first and find your laptops website and get your drivers to before starting

Write down you devices in device manager. One model may ship with several options on each device.

NB you can't download older versions of windows, and images offered for download form third parties may have nasties in them.

check in the laptops forum for info about your model, many laptops have a restore partition (press F11 or something) or application to burn reinstall dvd's ,

it's impossible to remove all user data simply because it's just everwhere on the disk

fastest / easiest way is to do the image and then use an app like sysinternals sdelete to zero out the unused space.
