Hey everybody. Just looking for advice on holiday destinations. Been to Italy, France and England on school trips in previous years, but never actually booked a holiday on my own.

Could ye give me some advice on some good holiday destinations? Also just to point out, I'll probably be going on my own cos my mates went on a group holiday to Spain a few weeks ago, but I couldnt go with work.

Looking for a warm spot with a good night life and good bars and nightclubs. (Ya know what I mean!) Not a rough spot tho, ye know yereselves. I'd appreciate it guys cos Im at a total loss here. I'd be travelling in October btw. Thanks in advance. Slan

most places will be fairly quiet in October regards nightlife tbh.
I'd recommend El Medano in Tenerife which is a really nice town. you could do a course in kitesurfing there (great sport to learn and good thing to do during the day) or diving. It's a cool town that's not in the traditional low-rent area but still good value. If you want a mad night out get a bus down to Playa Des Ingles and a taxi back. But much nicer to stay in El Medano. Fly to Tenerife south with Aer Lingus. (Flight is too long on Ryanair - 4 hours).

Warm in October means you'll basically be looking at the Canaries

If you are looking at a city break as opposed to a resort then I would recommend Barcelona.
Great city with a great nightlife but not sure about the weather in October. If you need any tips just ask.

    Agree with Barcelona.

also look up the Hotel Pulitzer and Hotel Regina. In a great location.

OP if you gave more info on your interests / sort of holiday you are interested in we might be able to better advise.

THere is a bus from the airport into the square for about 5 euro.

if you're on your own I'd say that it's more fun to do some sort of activity with a group during the day. of if you go to a city like Barcelona maybe consider staying in a hostel so you'll meet other people for going out etc.

Barcelona. Take in a football match. The weekend of the 6th would be good. http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/first-team/calendar
