Pretty general question....but what percent(if anything) should be knocked off dealers asking prices?...in general.

There is no general rule. It depends on the dealer in question and how they set their prices and also how the car in question is priced relative to other similar cars. Some dealers advertise their cars at high prices to allow for trade ins or straight deal discounts. Other dealers will advertise a similar car at a lower price to attract more interest but will not be able to offer much discount at all.
