    Hi everyone,

Due to demand we have opened up two new locations for our free maths tutorials initiative for secondary students, Cork and Galway are now joining Dublin.

We are seeking more volunteer engineers to specifically join the team for the Dublin location - Engineers Ireland headquarters. We also welcome engineers for Cork and Galway also.

The tutorials take place on Saturdays over the academic year.

Anyone interested in getting involved please DM

Please note that this is a voluntary initiative, no payment is offered.

    Cheers

P.s. please help share the message with parents and students - http://bit.ly/qsS9dH

That's a really great initiative EngIreland.

I don't know where I'll be in September myself so I won't be able to help but out of curiosity do you provide guides for the tutors themselves?

    Thanks CatFromHue.

Our head tutor is based in Dublin and would work with you directly but we don't have any "guides" persay.

The entire course is online in our video tutorials so our volunteer engineers in Cork and Galway are working from them.

We have strong teams in Cork and Galway but surprisingly we struggle for volunteers in Dublin - currently a team of two with both covering the Junior Cert course and the Leaving Cert course respectively.

If your plans see you in Dublin in September and you think you would like to get involved please let me know.

To think this initiative started from a six week crash course in March 2010.

    From little acorns......

What sort of hours is the commitment for on a Saturday?

    Hi Chris,

It would be for 2 1/2 hours - 10am from 12:30pm for the Leaving Cert class or 2pm to 4:30pm for the Junior Cert class.

    Thanks for the interest Chris.

Totally understandable as it would suit someone who has some free time on a Saturday.

Please help spread the initiative to any parents/students you know.

    Cheers
