From Deal Extreme 5.60 Euro -Free Shipping

    Interesting device from Deal extreme.

Not much good during the day but might be ok for the dark evenings ahead.

It's also another yoke you'd have to carry around if parking in public.

Good idea have the brake light white as most rear lights will be red.

Whatever about the indicators, the brake light would be very beneficial to fellow cyclists in the bike lane.

    13.0 cm x 6.0 cm x 5.5 cm

    Weight: 215 g

Another good deal from DX is the puncture repair kit.
    About 2.70 euro

Personally, I prefer to look ahead at the traffic and see why the person in front of me might need to brake, rather than relying on a piece of hardware from dealextreme, which (if my own experience is anything to go by) has a high chance of going on the blink when the rain comes.

5.60 for a piece of safety kit? After VAT, postage and profit hard to expect quality for a €1 or €2?
Chances are a waste of money. Cheap **** is still ****

    You just don't know this.

    DX sell some great products at very low prices;
admittedly they also sell some turkeys,
but it's not a given that just because it's cheap, it's rubbish.

I'm sure many shops sell the same China made products at a massive mark up.

P&P will be practically nothing for Deal Extreme - they're a massive company, so will be bulk purchasing.
No VAT on products under 22 euro coming from outside the EU.

That leaves plenty for profit and manufacture, esp in China.

I don't know it, but cheap Chinese electronics have caugh me out once to often. It's your 5.60 spend away!
My experience has taught me to be wary, and personally never skimp on safety gear, be it for bike, kayak, chainsaw or whatever.
Let me know in 12months how it stands up to and year of commuting in Ireland. If you have already given it such use please post details and correct me.

Christ, it's basically a bike light, not high end electronics.
Most of which are probably made in China anyway.

Personally, I'm not buying it, as I don't need it.
Just thought it might be of interest to users here.
