    i have an old samsung that is busted, can i remove the memory and hd, then find a machine and insert them, i have various needs installed which is why i aam asking thanks in advance.

    You wouldn't need the memory. If you're hoping to get the operating system to boot in another machine - while not entirely impossible - it's most likely to end up in failure. But you can remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer and recover you're personal files, no big deal.

    If it's a SATA drive you can connect it directly to a SATA port in a desktop PC or use a USB > SATA adapter.
