If you are going to apply for BTEA, you can only get your fees paid by the grant. You wont receive any other grant payment.

I decided to keep my allowance but Should I apply for anything else or does the Susi grant cover it?
    Thanks

Have you contacted AHEAD for advice or the disabilities office in the College?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Students on Disability Allowance are eligible to apply for a grant and redg fee AND also keep their Disability Allowance. You should inform your Disability Allowance section of Social Welfare that you are entering a course of study. If you go on to BTEA, you will not get a grant so it is best not to apply for BTEA. The only thing you will miss out on is the €300 book grant.
