Satellite signal disappears at night

I've a Freesat box here, and for the last 2 nights it has completely lost signal from the satellite. During the day it's fine, but come 9pm or so, it drops off completely.

I'm looking at its Sat finder program thing and SNR drops to 0 and AGC is around 50%, during the day the SNR is up to 99% with AGC around 75-80.

Anyone any ideas as to what the cause may be? I've tried connecting up an old Sky+ HD box I have here and the problem is the same - no satellite signal received.

The satellites gone behind the moon.

Ah, but the satellite is between the Earth and the Moon! :)

Ignoring the previous poster's smart comment about the moon , perhaps the location of the dish is an issue? Is it mounted where it might be obstructed by a window being opened (or closed) or where a source of interference comes on at that time of day - night light, birds roosting perhaps? If not caused by obstruction or interference at the dish it could be a DECT phone or WiFi installation, but these usually affect specific transponder channels rather than cause complete blackout.

I was thinking dodgy LNB alright, mike65's Google foo is better than mine it seems. The dish is on the front of the house, no birds near it.

There was a similar thread here a few weeks back, the problem in that case was caused by someone in a higher building than the OP opening a skylight in the evenings & blocking the satellite signal.
