Specific dublin city centre physio recommendation?

Hi Folks, anyone got any specific physios they'd recommend in the city centre?

It's been ages since I've been to a physio and all the city centre based ones I'd discovered were good a few years ago have moved on.

I did something to my foot and a bit of rest for the last few weeks hasn't improved it, so looking to find out what's wrong with it and what exercises to do to sort it out.. preferably without having to take a load of time off work to get somewhere decent.

Guys in the cycling forum tend to recommend Aidan Woods of Pearse Street physio. Think he has a fair bit of experience with cycling and athletics injuries.

Richard Shorhall in sports and spine physio in Portobello is meant to be good with msk injuries as well.

Probably not the advice you want to hear but I have been to a good few physios, some of them "athletics specialists", some of them recommended as being "this guy is brilliant" or "this guy was physio to so and so"....and I've really never found any of them to be that good for me. I had a running injury for about two years, saw maybe 6 different physios, went on various wild goose chase strengthening programmes, I really couldnt say any of them made a difference. Thats just my experience, yours might be different. I've had three major running injuries in the past ten years. All of them have been seen by physios and none of them have been fixed by physios (or with the aid of physios).

+1 on SportsMed Ireland. Find them great not just at fixing the problem short-term but prescribing exercises to ensure it doesn't keep happening.

Another vote for Aidan Woods in Pearse St. Physio.

Unfortunately you'l have to wait for the Olympics to end before you get a chance to see him. He has been the Irish head physio for the Beijing and London games.

Didn't realise he was gone to London as well. That was a crap recommendation so if you can't even get to him. :pac:

Found the people at http://functionaltraining.ie/ to be great. Based on Upper Fitzwilliam Street. Peter

Sorted out my issue and I've been back to them for sports massages

Don't insult him, he's not a physio :pac: Not sure how good the physios are in funciontal training, but yeah, Pete is a ledge. I assume Orla is quite good but where physios are concerned I'd be looking to go to one who has a track record with the type of injury you're wanting them to fix.

Ha! I was trying to avoid controversy by saying "team." but yup Pete and Orla are great.

Cheers folks! Big fan of functional training, but only been there for sports massage, so didn't want to assume they were great at physio too.
