Galaxay Roof bars/tracks

    Hi all,

have a mk3 galaxy that has what I'd call roof tracks rather than bars. Its the first time to install a roof box and was just hoping somebody could explain the notches in the tracks and where bars are to be placed/not placed.

Attached are some pics. The pad-entry is obviously where you slid the pads of the bars into the track. Then there are notches both to the front and rear of this starting point. So are there any dos/donts of bar placement? Ovbiously from reading online one shouldnt tighten too much as the track can become damaged and it makes removal of the bars harder.

    Thanks in advance

    W.

My understanding with these tracks is that the mounts can be placed pretty much anywhere along the track to account for different sized loads. You simply ensure that the mounts are parallel across the car and away from the insertion points.

Now, be aware of the weight limit of the bars and tracks, it might not be as high as you think. For example on our car it's 55kgs TOTAL. That includes the roof box and all the stuff inside.
