External hard drive - screwed up, help!

Pluuged the damn thing into a Saorview box and it formatted it.

I can still see its 3/4 full so the stuff (vids/photos etc) have to be in there somewhere.

Tried free recovery software but it's unable to recover anything but the smallest of files (videos etc are pretty big)

Suggestions pls?

Its possible that the space is just space reserved by the box and not full at all.

You might have to get it sent in somewhere if its been formatted.
