Insured with carphone warehouse. Phone is only a few months old.

Would I be better off if my phone was accidentally damaged rather than having to get it repaired?

Has anyone dealt with them before regarding this kind of problem?

I can listen to itunes on the phone and voice recognition works for calling people... Headphones don't help and neither does putting it on speaker.

why do this under insurance...if its a few months...bring it back...no insurance needed for that, or call Apple directly and send it to them

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

Agreed, if its a couple of months old and you didnt cause this damage then let the apple warranty take care of it. save yourself the insurance excess fee.

Don't go to the carphone warehouse or claim on insurance. Go to Apple direct.

I had this problem and they swapped it for a new phone.

Friend of mine had this exact problem and a full restore fixed it. Might be worth a go, as Apple will suggest you try it anyway.
