New Renault Megane - how many keys?

Anyone know how many keys you get on a new Renault Megane - I know it's one of those "card keys" but do you get 2 of these or 1 card key and 1 ordinary key?

My concern is whether 2 different people can access and drive the car or do they only provide one card.

    Thanks.

    It would be two cards.

Thanks Colm. I can't figure out the benefit of these card keys versus ordinary keys but I'm sure someone will tell me!

Novelty of carrying around a thick card in your pocket versus a key. I dunno! Thanks. I imagine they must have more faults compared to keys.

They're thin enough, pain if you've got house keys as well.

I had an older megane a couple of years back and you could open the door and start the engine while the key was in your pocket. Thats about it really.

Novelty of carrying around a thick card in your pocket versus a key. .

Its roughly the size of a credit card, just thicker. Stick it in your wallet/purse/pocket/handbag then forget you have it. no need to take it out or turn it in the ignition.

I find it dead handy, especially when carrying stuff. No need to root out the key and try press buttons , just walk up to the car and pull the handle or press the boot button and put the stuff in.

I imagine they must have more faults compared to keys.

Theres no magic or anything fundamentaly different to a normal key. Its a plastic box with buttons on a board. Its just rectangle and doent have the key blade sticking out of it.

    Off topic:

I saw a lady driving a Renault in Kiliney driving her car with the keys hanging out of the driver door about 6 months ago.

    On Topic:

You usually get 2 keys one as a backup in case you loose the first so you can go to a dealer and get a replacement.

I don't think the current model allows you to stop / start with the key card in your pocket?

The key card has a regular key inside it that can be removed and used in the front passenger door. The regular key can also be used to lock the car from the outside when the engine is running. The key card doesn't allow this.

I took his post to mean that its not available on the Megane III. It's standard on the GT line alright.

not on the dynamique - it's the standard key card as opposed to the "hands free" key card. Not to worry, I've ordered my dynamique pre-reg and happy with the deal I got.
