Looked like it was done accidentally so I'm sure he will be back albeit under a new name. Would be a pity to see a very experienced guy lost off this forum as he obviously had a wealth of knowledge gained I'm sure from gettin up off his arse and out into the field doing things the tried and tested good old fashioned ways and not reading a magazine and becoming an expert overnight:) :)

Not that easy to do it accidentally as you have to select are you sure nearly 5 times on different pages.

Hopefully he'll set up a new account when he realised his mistake :D

By far one of the best story tellers on here and his nights out seemed like they belonged in a novel.

Dont blame him , this used to be a great place with loads of banter and good advice and lads sharing their experiences... now every thread just turns into a dick measuring contest and lads just commenting on every thread just to bring their post counts up....take a look back at all the old threads on boards and look at all the quality of the content and see how many of them posters are still posting ,very few.

+1 these days every1s an amatuer solicitor with every second thread turns into people quoting the Irish Statute Book or that .204 v .223 BS that goes on. John is a decent guy, very helpful when answering questions, he put an awful lot of effort into some of his posts, great advice for fixing lamps etc. His stories were a good help too. All the best John!!!!!

Agree with another poster 10,000 plus posts how does he get time to do anything!
Regular contributor on the farming forum. His info will be missed.

He could of easily just left his account dormant rather than close it.

    Best of luck JohnGalway!

This thread looks more like an obituary!!!

Its only 4.24 posts a day over numerous forums in the last 6 years. You could easily post 20+ posts a day if you were having a debate or an interesting thread.

Some people have over 30,000 posts in less time.

Some people always have internet access depending on their jobs/college or have a lapltop beside them in the evenings. i spend a lot of time online in college but still have plenty of time to socialise, go out and put bullets down the barrel too.

4.24 post filled with quality is far better than 20+ posts a day of bollox...thats whats wrong with this forum lads thinking they are great with thousands of posts but the magority of them are ****e , worthless opinions on subjects they know very little about but think they are experts .. if i was a mod on here i would go off my head with the amount of crap they have to sift through...like look at that bollox the other day about a lad taking another lads pigeon shooting permission..kids calling other kids kids and talking about learning about respect...absolute waste of band width and lowering the standard of this forum...this site has seen a massive dip in the past 6 months and it is a shame because there were some great posters . i often read through pages of debates on here without posting because it was that interesting but lately its trolls , wind up merchants and clowns argueing that have taken over... look no one wants to read that or are interested we need to get back to helping each other out and giving sound advice not just spouting ****e(i have been guilty myself of getting drawn into some rows lately)

Personally I think the standard started to dip since bunnyshooter left.
Hell there was one other particular poster that got banned and although I regarded him a fool that wrote crap he still managed to create a bit of a debate which isn't there anymore

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,301 ✭✭✭daithi55

dusty87 was another good poster here and he to has closed his account

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 935 ✭✭✭dicky82

i think the reason for the dip in standards recently is due to the SUMMER HOLIDAYS. all the kids on here that would be usually tied up with school and homework have plenty of time to be posting trip on here. that coupled with the gestapo modding that has been creeping in has put allot of lads off. it's a shame because a small few have ruined it for the vast majority. . . post counts are what seem to fuel the morons. . . .
