I'm looking for a new competition Karate Gi for Kumite and I've been looking at Budo Nords Sonkei suit. Only prob is that I can only find it on an english site for £110 stg which seems a bit pricey once yoy do the Euro conversions. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can get a cheaper one or similar make that is wkf approved or similar

I went looking for a Gi online recently and I researched the following sites/ brands:

    Tokaido
    Shureido
    Hirota
    BudoNord
    Kamikaze.co.uk
    Kamae.co.uk

I wanted a lightweight but high quality suit and basically all the sites were around the €200 mark. So unfortunately it probably will cost you but best to get what you want.

I went for a Tokaido Kumite which just arrived yesterday as it happens. I wore it last night in training and I'm very happy with it but we'll see how it holds up in the wash!

Blitz Sport do a Kyoto WKF approved Kumite suit, 9oz starting at £60.

I think the 8oz is cheaper but they currently seem to be out of stock.

An e-mail to them would confirm this.
