    Hi all,

I'm a final year law student in Dublin and am hoping to get a part-time job that is somewhat legal related for the coming academic year. I've got quite a good amount of legal and commercial experience. Does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of employment I could look for or where I might look?

    Thanks

As in work experience in a solicitors firm or a part time job in an in house legal section?

It would be for monetary reasons primarily (internships this summer were less profitable than in previous years!) rather than to get experience as I feel I've gotten enough experience although any more of course could only be beneficial. Either a solicitors office or in house would both be perfect if they could offer part-time hours that I could work while doing my final year of university.

To be honest, in a recession take any part time job going. Generally solicitors will not take students on part time for paid work, and obviously any inhouse will probably work 9-5 and with heavy competition for those jobs, they might not want someone part time.

I know of one or two people that have part-time jobs in solicitors offices but I think it's just for a lucky few and I don't think there are many of those positions. I would also agree that in house is probably unlikely for the reason you have mentioned. Thanks for having a look.
