Receding Gums

I had a problem about 10 years ago with a severe case of Gingivitis, I was put on antibiotics and since then, I have been prone to it. I brush and floss and make sure to take good care of my teeth, but the gums around my top right incisor teeth seem to be receding still. I'm wondering is this worth a visit to the dentist, or will they tell me just to continue as I am? I can feel the gum in that area is weaker than the gum around my other teeth.

Hey I would recommend going to see a dentist and getting a referral to a periodontist. I had pretty bad gums, I used to brush but completely ignored interdental brushing and flossing.

Thankfully I have an excellent periodontist and am on the way back to better periodontal health. I neglected to treat gingivitis and mild periodontal disease and really regret it now.

You prob might be better off waiting for a dental professional to make a comment but Id recommend it anyway :)

Gums won't grow back, prevention is better than cure- see a dentist,& if needs be, you'll be referred to a periodontist.

Thanks - I've booked in for a check up and clean at the dentists, I'm hoping it's going to be just a course of strong antibiotics, but I know it's getting worse as my gums are sensitive and sore.

Normally a stringent brush/floss/mouthwash routine would get rid of it in a week or so, but it's not going, so I think it needs to be treated professionally.
