I have Wamsler K148 central heating cooker range that any time I open the door to fill it with briquettes It smokes like mad even smoke comes out of the hotplate on top of the range Iv try everything to stop this like cleaning the range and cleaning the chimney but nothing seems to help. The chimney is not blocked there is plenty of smoke coming out from it. even when the two doors are closed on the range if it gets a blow of air from an open door or window smoke will come out of the hotplate on top any help with this id would be very great full Thanks. Please make sure there is a permanent air supply in the same room as the range. Fixed ventilation in the form of a wall vent is a mandatory legal requirement.

On your 23kw range if in a standard non airtight home you need a air vent of 9,900 sqmm or 99cm2 All vents should have the free area marked on the vent.

See here to do with ventilation requirements.

Please don't use this range until this smoke/fume issue is resolved:eek:.
Carbon monoxide is lethal. Get a carbon monoxide alarm installed.

Is the flue outlet near anything higher and follows manufacturers instructions? A photo would help:)
