    That's an extremely interesting set of pictures. It might be nice to revisit the various spots as the work progresses so as to produce a sort of 'time lapse' of the progress.

    Thanks for that Hungerford....That is the initial plan throughout the closure...Weekly updates for now with more to follow as the ballast starts.

    There is a ballast train set to start in October / November time using 111 + 113 which are currently stabled in Londonderry. These will remain here until the line is finished.

    The line is due a bit of an upgrade. Went to Belfast on that line and the section between Londonderry and Coleraine was terrible. Slow and bumpy.
