Accommodation/Trinity

Well, I know that the majority of people say that Halls is the best place for 1st years to live, but in general, what are people's options if they're not accepted?

It seems to be the general trend that prospective first years who don't get Halls are basically hung our to dry and fend for themselves :/

I'm having trouble finding specific accommodation for Trinity students that's not on campus or nearer than Halls?

Anyone got any info? M'afraid of me life I won't get Halls and I'll be stuck..

    Thanks!

There's no "specific" accommodation for Trinity students other than campus or halls. You can search for a place to live on the Accommodation Advisory Service and you might find other TCD Students looking to rent a place with.

I'm open to correction, but I believe Halls had empty rooms the last two years.

I was told when I was accepted for SF accommodation that demand had been greater than supply, but if it was, it wasn't by much, from what I've heard.

You shouldn't worry if you don't get it. I lived there, and whilst it's in attractive grounds in an exclusive area, it's also quite far from a lot of urban ameneties, with a reasonable commute to College. Unless you're really into nightclub socialising (which is what the JCR, i.e., the SU of Halls, mostly does), you won't be at much of a social disadvantage when it comes to meeting people, etc.: College is the place in terms of clubs and societies and will be where you will obviously meet most of your coursemates.
