Safari broken on Lion

    Hi,

I have a pain in me ring with Safari (5.1.6) on Lion (10.7.4). For no apparent reason, Safari became somehow corrupt and when I try to launch it, it immediately crashes. I've tried trashing a few appropriate plist prefs (had to find Library first) and then when I had no joy there, I tried reinstalling Lion from the Recovery drive, thinking that it would overwrite Safari and other system files. Alas no joy, it still crashes.

Do I have no oter alternative but to revert to Snow Leopard and do a clean install and then try again? This seems a long way round to fix what should have been a simple fix.

    ???

    Thanks for any advice ...

    Hugh

Have you tried installing Safari 6?

Safari 5 had lots of stability problems.
