    Hello all,

I am wondering is there any possible way of combining my satellite feed for my freesat box in the kitchen, with my magic eye feed from my sky box in the sitting room down one cable? No possible way of getting a second cable to the tv in the kitchen!

    All replies very much appreciated.

Combining & splitting the signals with satellite/terrestrial diplexers shouldn't cause problems, but the 9V power from the Sky box RF2 wouldn't get through, so the eye would have to be powered by some other means.

Can you not loop the sky box in the sitting room to the box in the kitchen?

Have a look on the back of the sky box there should be "loop out" or "out" connect a coax cable to that and to the satellite box in the kitchen.

Loop out for what? The satellite IF (lnb out)? Sky boxes don't have this & it would be of no help to the OP here anyway.

That can only allow power for the lnb, the magic eye won't work with this!! No power!

Those are the diplexers I mentioned in my 1st reply.

Use diplexers as suggested, this will allow satellite and feed from sky box to reach destination.
    Then use these

or similar to allow control of Sky from the kitchen

Use a diplexer and instead of that ebay item use a
"DC1 in-line DC inserter or decoupler" to power up the eye.

Connect a 9V power supply and you can control the Sky box as normal.
