    Why would they make her speak Irish on the TV. She is obviously uncomfortable doing it as she doesn't have a good command of the language. Now fair play to her for giving it a go but she would obviously rather speak in english and you might actually get a proper interview out of her. She looked so confused trying to answer your man she didn't even understand him when he said she had a "tús maith". I just think that to make her speak it for the sake of the nuacht is a bit stupid. Not everyone speaks irish so why should we make her try?

    I'd imagine that there was some element of her wanting to do the interview. Otherwise, she could have just declined to do it.

    Usually when sports matches are shown live, and they interview the players/managers, they'll conduct it in English.
