Cost of replacing timing belt.

    Hi

    Just wondering whats a rough price for a timing belt and water pump job if i supply the belt and pump.

    Audi a4 2000 1.6

    Around €200, but really depends on where you go. I supplied belts and pump for my mitsi and had an Atlas garage install. Can't give you price, because I had lots of other stuff done too, including replacing an old HID kit, which involved the removal of the front bumper.

    My local mechanic does nixers in the evening when he finishes working for volkswagen and charges roughly €150 he says.
    Depending on the engine could be a bit more or a bit less.

    The cost in a reputable registered garage with warranty etc should be around the €350 mark for OE manufacturer belt kit and water pump supply and fit for that engine.

    That model A4 involves a bit more stripping then your average car.

    We charge €300 for these. So €300-350 seems like about the going rate without resorting to the black economy.
