    In North America and Canada

I have one of thoose friends of friends who when
less then sober goes on about farmers being assest
rich ever since Eddie Hobbs said it on Questions and Answers
    several years ago.

I try to explain it's money you don't have, have never had
and will never have because land just doen't come up for sale.

So you will never have the opportunity to sell a smaller outfarm(s)
and buy a block all together. Which makes for crazy prices when
some does come up for sale.

I point out that cropland in America sells for $1000-$3000 and they
    get subsidies too !

He must've thought I was full of dung 'cause he remembered and sent
me this link saying that he didn't belive it till he saw it.

Skip to 2:20 for start of story
There's a nice graphic of regional prices at ~6:00
and story basically finishes at 12:00
