    Hi All,

This is coming up fairly soon and I'm considering doing it as it's local enough.

Could previous participants let me know how they've found the course in the past? It's advertised as a pretty flat course, is this true?

I'm familiar with Castletown, does the route head out to the right of the house towards the gravel carparks and then to the motorway interchange? Where does it usually start / finish?

    Thanks!

Its not flat but its very favourable from what i remember. Last km is a drag up to the finish but the middle section more than makes up for it. Nice race.

The route last year started about half way down the motorway entrance, heading out to the interchange, down through the town and then up the drive to finish in front of the house.

It's pretty flat, a little incline heading up to the interchange but then you also have a little downhill between the Garda Station and the gates but overall a very fast course.

Was pretty well organised last year except they ran (haw haw!) into problems with all the mass traffic coming back into the North entrance to Castletown housing estate, some motorists were more inclined to try mow runners down than wait. The race seems to be 10.30am this year so perhaps that will mean they'll have problems with cars leaving for mass. Either way would like to see a Garda on this entrance.

I enjoyed it last year and am already signed up to do it again this year.

Hi, my wife is registered to do this race thinking that it was a fun run and she could walk sections. Do you know if its a race and fun run or just basically a race

Good race and fairly flat apart from the little drag up to the motorway round about.
    Very nice t-shirt last year

The results from last year are online
There were quite a few people finishing over 30 minutes, I'd guess at least some of those walked at least some of the way.

On a broadly related note, what kind of starting waves have been used before?

Has anybody any experience of people starting too far forward in this race?

There were no waves last year, just line up and go!

Ooh I can't wait, this is the main reason I'm doing it!

Great race, one of the best organised I'd seen in a long time! The whole of Celbridge AC seemed to be out helping, I say it time and time again, but there is no comparison to any of the commercial/privately organised races and the likes of a good club race as such! Well done to everyone in Celbridge AC!

I had an ok race myself, lead it out for the 1st km, but didn't have the fitness to keep up the pace, and finished around the 16.50 mark. The course itself is as good as it gets, flat as a pancake and very few turns. The Rain at the start was certainly welcome also, cooled us all down!

Anyone know if results are up yet?

Really enjoyed this race! It was very well organised and there was some good support along the last km.

Course was really nice and downhill & I got a PB which was an added bonus :)

Will definitely be pencilling this one in for next year.

Enjoyed the race today. No PB but maybe next year! Any chance the children could get a little goody bag when they finish i.e drink & small bag of sweets?:)
