Found this site today, extremely handy !!

Obviously at home my steam account is in Euros, but when in work we go through the UK, so I have access to the UK steam store and their prices.

More often than not there are HUGE differences in the prices, especially in relation to NEW games.

£29.99 (€34.99) in the UK compared to €49.99 over here for most new games

The site shows you the biggest rip offs/ the best savings and it's all very well laid out. Suprised I'd not seen it on here before. Woulda been extra handy in the STEAM sale too

Doesn't Steam check your credit cards' country of issue, and/or registered Paypal address before allowing you to use a different store?

You'd have to change your billing address to make a purchase, than change it back when you got home. I know I wouldn't risk it before asking customer support if it's ok first.

    I just use paypal.
When I do use my credit card in work, I change "Ireland" to "United Kingdom" . My work one is automatically set to UK, and at home it is in Ireland.
It works fine, I've been doing it the last 3 years :D

If you're very wary, just pay your mate in UK/US , and have him gift it to you

As far as I know, paypal will send the information of what country the person is in, so you can't use that to say you're from somewhere else. Secondly, if you've used a particular credit card once and said that you were from one country, they won't allow that one through as another country.

Finally, they'll also check IP addresses to see that you're in the UK or wherever. Sean maybe has a VPN in work and all traffic routes through the UK?
You can find out by checking
    http://www.ip-adress.com/
and seeing if it gives you a UK location.

They don't particularly like people doing this regularly as it means they lose out on funds when the market barriers fall. They'll detect and stop some access through VPNs whenever they can. However, as far as I know, there is nothing illegal about it.

I think I paid less than €5 for FM12, might have been from Amazon.com.

Yes, well, with a lot of large companies now, our traffic comes through the UK.
The ISP is Microsoft, and goes through UK and then into mainland europe, so that's why I can access it in work, I'm not redirecting ports or anything.
Though I'd imagine it's a valid way of doing it.
I've not had any warnings from STEAM as of yet,

Darksiders 2 / Hitman / Borderlands 2/ Sleeping Dogs are all games I will be looking to buy in the coming 2 months. The savings over them 4 games using the cheaper option, is the price of another AAA title

 How do you mean blocked? Just not allowed make further purchases?

This is one of the things I miss about being in a clan - clanmates from the UK or US would have no problem gifting games, and letting me reimburse them via PayPal. Saved a lot of moolah that way.

Yeah blocked from purchasing. Missed the first 2 days but Steam support lifted it.

It's only the last day that really matters :P

Did they warn you about doing it again, or how often were you at it ?
I can understand if it was during the steam sale and loads of transactions in your account.
But in general I may buy once a month or so...it's not enought to be collared is it ?

If you're interested in those games on PC you should consider gamestop.ie, they usually sell new PC games for 28 euro + 2 in delivery

Well Borderlands and Hitman are cheap on it anyway, Darksiders not so much
