What happen when you sell a vehicle to a dealer. Sold one there recently to a dealer who called out in the evening and collected it. He talk me through the process. Gave me a receipt, and took the log book and said he had to enter it on the computer, with I think the department of the evioroment, to say it is being held, pending change of ownership. Something along those lines anyway.

He said he would drop out the next day with the paperwork. He has never come back with it. Don't want to be raising any alarms hear so I have not mentioned who the dealer is. If he had not mentioned anything I would not have known he even had to register it as such.

He mentioned that some people restore the particular vehicle I sold him, which I knew already. Kind of wondering if he decided to do this himself.
Just curious really to know if it is out on the lot of someones garage.

If he was taking it into stock, he could have filled out an RF105 to put it out of your name.

It's an easy thing to call Dept of Environ. in Shannon 061365000 in the morning and see if it has been transferred into a dealers name recently.

As long as you signed it and dated it, i wouldn't be too worried. You could give the dealer a call just to make sure they changed ownership. You can also ring Shannon and they can tell you if you are the registered owner or not, but wait a few days before calling them.
Did he mean paperwork for the new car you traded in against?

Just had a look on the motortax website.
Got the info up on the vehicle. Transfered to individual on 17/07/12
Means It has changed hands would assume that individual is a person vs an entity.
Would love to see what is done with the vehicle in this case. Just never had the time to restore it myself.
