Was over for it today, great atmosphere and great to watch, K2 race especially was exceptional, and the noise incredible as half the crowd was hungarian!

Since you took up running instead of skiing you have way too much time on your hands. :-)

Why do they bother with heats in the olympics? - Only one person going out from 4 heats seems very odd. could they have not limited entries to the number in the semi final or at least run the heats on time - the guy who missedd out from the first heat was plenty faster then some of the slowest in other heats!

Not sure why all the lanes are not full either. Waste of a great showcase for the sport

Are they short boats or something for the sprints? Just wondering why they all have their knees out the top, I'm sure I always used to fit in the kayak properly when I used to mess about on the river at uni.

In C1, the paddlers kneel, so part of the body is out of it. In K1, as it is a racing kayak, your knees are not in the boat, it is designed for speed, not for staying in the boat.

Its because of he continental qualification system. Most C1 paddlers are european, yet after the world champs, only 2 more european paddlers can qualify. Hence the empty spaces left for other continents.

It ain't just C1 mate, have a look at the kayak heats!

Enough talk going around about C1s on twitter etc without adding to it here

I think he may be referring to Richard Jefferies of GB refusing to make an effort in the 1000m C1 to further his chances in 200m, where he subsequently failed to make even the B final.

Or else there is something else on twitter!!!
