the bit about the diesel is bizarre....trying to cover up a VERY expensive engine rebuild being needed perhaps?

Many years ago, I lived for a wile in a less than sought after suburb of Dublin. I was driving a very nice car, fully loaded and a little unusual. It was a bit of a head turner. Anyway, one night it was seriously vandalised, spray paint, keyed, the usual stuff. When the guard arrived to look see and take a statement, he said, "Well, what do you expect when you drive a car like that in a neighbourhood like this?" My response was, "So, I'm supposed to lower my standards, let the scumbags dictate how I should live/what I should drive? Maybe an old unroadworthy rust bucket, with no tax or nct to boot and take my chances?"

Its a fact of life that some people spend their disposable income in the pub, at the bookies or at whatever they enjoy. Some people enjoy their cars, regardless of where they live, and long may they live.

I've never understood people with the same interests "dissing" others because they dont have an interest in an individuals choice....this isnt football....:)

I am only saying I wouldn't have one one of them, I am not saying anyone who owns one of them should be jailed. Not a practical classic, you would want deep pockets :(.I wouldn't condemn anyone who has an Allegro for instance either (praise them actually), though I am sure some would like
    that to happen.

I wouldn't expect everyone to like what I like either. Can people not have an opposite view?

P.S maybe they were out for a drive and just stopped for a break, lunch etc and just so happened to stop in a council estate? They might not live there, I would doubt it.

I just can't understand why he won't do the mill 3 or 4 hours work to make her good and get a better price, I don't care how little interest he has left in it but nobody want to loose money either.

I have no objection to the owner living in a council estate, although if it was me I'd probably have taken the sale pics somewhere else but what really gets me is a vendor trying to pass off all the work that obviously needs doing as a few hours work to make perfect!
Just ask yourself if you were trying to sell a car that wasn't running well would you not go the effort to make it run well before any inspection especially for the want of a fuel filter and a good drive. In my opinion anybody buying this car would be off there head to buy that car on the word of the vendor!

Putting diesel in a petrol isn't too much of a problem on old cars, only cats on the new ones have a problem.
The photo location isn't the best idea - but 'a man's home is his castle' so he's photographing it outside his 'castle' :D
He's had it 35 years so that means something, maybe the 15k is the correct price for that type of classic ?
I'd say a dealer has snapped it up by now if it's genuine

Im wondering if stating diesel was put in the car was a blind for something more wrong with the car, I thought I had said that clearly.
